Will Gilliam

“You can have anything in the world you want if you’ll just help enough other people get what they want”. (Zig Ziglar), sums up why I became a real estate owner and agent. One of the best investments one makes in their lives is the purchase of a home. I derive great pleasure in helping someone sell their home to find another, and vice versa, helping others to find that perfect home or property, a place they can call their own. A home should be like an island or oasis of peace where one can go to get away from the busyness and the noise of our daily lives. A place where memories are made and traditions are handed down throughout generations. Pairing you with the perfect home is my way of helping you get want you want while receiving the satisfaction of helping someone achieve their dream. This is the essence of my job, helping others achieve their dreams.

My experience in sales has for the most part been in Cooperate America in the Pharmaceutical industry. Then as the commercial goes “Life comes at you fast” I found myself along with many others displaced due to realignments and cuts. Anyone who has been through something like this knows what a shock to the system this can be; however, to quote Mr. Ziglar again, “Sometimes adversity is what you need to face in order to become successful”. Living in the Hill Country of Texas as I do I did not want to move back to a big city. My wife and I found our isle of peace from this hectic world here and did not wish to return back to that world, so I asked myself “What could I do here in the Hill Country where I could apply my professionalism, abilities, and talents in sales?” The answer became clear become a Real Estate Professional. This was made even clearer when a broker that a friend of mine knew wanted to retire her business. We asked if she would sell it to us and she agreed. One of my dreams has always been to own my own business where the only limits on me would be the ones I would put on myself. I tell everyone I meet that our coming to live where we do was “God thing” and now I can add, owning my own business and where I am today is certainly a “God thing”.

Texas’ Hill Country is own of the most beautiful places to live. With its wide open spaces that give rise to some of the most breath taking sunrises and sunsets every seen, to the abundance of wildflowers in the spring, to being just a short drive to some of the best State Parks in Texas where one can hike, boat, swim, camp, or just enjoy a leisurely picnic with family or friends. At night one can look up a see what we missed living in the big cities and that is a sky full of stars strewn across that black velvet canopy of the Texas night sky. Then there’s the beauty of the lakes here in the Hill Country where many families have made lasting memories of great times spent many summers on their waters. Likewise there are quaint shops, wineries, restaurants, lodging, golf courses, family entertainment all delivered with that small town flavor and friendliness. Is it any wonder that the New York Times called the Texas Hill Country one of America’s number 1 vacation spot?

Drop by and say hello, or if you are searching for that little piece of heaven here in the Hill County I would be delighted in helping you achieve that dream. We are located off FM 1431 next to the Dairy Queen. Our phone numbers are 325-388-4565 or toll free number 888-564-7771. I look forward to meeting with you and helping you discover your dream.

Meet Sonya Powers, Realtor®, GRI, e-Pro

Live the life on Lake LBJ or any of the Highland Lakes of Texas!  A dream that Sonya herself realized after a 23 year career in law enforcement…Some people think “WOW, what a change in lifestyle!”, but really… Sonya sees it as an exciting transition from a career of protecting and serving the community, to serving and protecting the interests of her individual clients.  Just like in police work, real estate is never boring and everyday brings new and exciting opportunities!

What started out as a weekend escape on Lake LBJ, turned to permanent bliss in 2007 when Sonya and her husband retired and moved to Kingsland permanently.  After several month    of “retirement”, Sonya decided it was time to get involved in the community and joined a local service sorority, Lambda Nu and has served on the Kingsland Water Board and the Llano Appraisal Board.  She is currently an active member of the Kingsland Chamber of Commerce.

One thing Sonya has found to be most beneficial when serving her clients is the fact that she lives, plays and is personally familiar with the area and waterfront issues that both sellers and buyers can appreciate coming from a “local”!

Sonya’s educational background includes a BA in Human Resource Management  from UTSA and she is a graduate of the National FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.    Sonya has also worked in building and remodeling with her husband, also a retired police officer whose main hobby has been home building for the last 25 years. Sonya is a member of the Highland Lakes Association of Realtors® as well as both the National Association (NAR) and the Texas Association (TAR) of Realtors®.

Living the Lake Life is as good as it gets, and with the team at Kingsland Real Estate…our goal is to serve our clients with enthusiasm, integrity, and commitment!  We look forward to serving you!
